Mary Pat Sits in the Family High Chair

On Sunday we stopped by Aunt Eileen's house to thank her for watching Mary Pat so many times while Shannon was looking for a job and Mary Pat got to sit in the same high chair that her daddy did so many years ago. Here she is with her Aunt Mo Mo and enjoying the high chair.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!!!

Irish eyes were smiling yesterday as Mary Pat celebrated her first St. Patrick's Day! She was our little leprechaun, smiling and talking up a storm while she looked for Timothy. As you can see from the pictures below, Mary Pat made many wardrobe changes yesterday and was the best dressed Irish girl at day care! Being silly before school, while Mommy tries to take pictures.

Mary Pat's 2nd Irish outfit of the day. She didn't last too long in the dress at school!
Time for bed in her St. Patty's Day pajamas!

More pictures to come.........

Meet the Mets...Meet the Mets...

....Mary Pat got to meet Mr. Met! It was a busy but great weekend as the temperature finally creeped above freezing for two consecutive days. On Saturday morning we got to meet Mr. Met at Roosevelt Field mall. If you look closely you'll notice that Daddy and Mary Pat both have on matching Mr. Met t-shirts. We then took a trip up to Fordham for the last basketball game of the season (with three wins on the season the Rams are not on Bubble Watch). Afterwards, we walked around New York's real Little Italy (in the Bronx) for some of the best pizza in the city at a small shop in the Arthur Avenue Market and THE best pastries in the world at Egidio on 187th Street.
On Sunday we went to Mary Pat's first parade, with a name like her's it was appropriately a St. Patty's Day parade in Huntington. We were a little nervous that all the hullabaloo might scare her but as you can see in the pictures (here is a link to a few more) our little lady leprechaun loved every second of it.

One of Mary Pat's many Irish outfits!

Enjoying the parade from Daddy's shoulders.

Watching the parade go by.

A Sick Couple of Weeks

Mary Pat has been battling a horrible cough and ear infection for the past couple of weeks. Luckily the cough is finally gone and the antibiotics seem to be working on the ear! During this time we have had to use a nebulizer with Mary Pat to help with her cough. Well, she loves the breathing treatments and thinks of it as more of a game than medicine.
In addition to all the new medicine Mary Pat has been introduced to over the past couple of weeks we have also added veggies to her daily routine. She was not a big fan of squash but LOVES sweet potatoes. We are going to try carrots today so it will be interesting to see her reaction to those!

Here are a few pictures from the past few weeks (and even some leftovers from Victoria's last visit!).

6 Months Old!

We can hardly believe that our precious Mary Pat is 6 months old today! The time is flying and she gets bigger by the day. She is becoming much more active and LOVES to play with various toys, her hands and especially her feet. If she can grab it, then she wants to play with it! Unfortunately this includes Mommy’s necklaces and earrings, which hurt when pulled on. She is also becoming much more vocal and loves to babble and laugh when she is tickled. This is by far the sweetest sound Mommy and Daddy have ever heard!

Mary Pat is starting to stay on her stomach during “tummy time” a little bit longer but still rolls over to her back after a few minutes. She is happier trying to sit up by herself (in between Mommy or Daddy’s legs of course) for a few seconds before toppling over.

Here are some pictures from the past month!

Enjoying being fed by Daddy. He let's Mary Pat play with her food more than Mommy does!

Ready to go outside and brave the cold!

A Busy Couple of Weeks!

It has been a very busy and exciting two weeks. Last week, Nana and Victoria were up from SC beginning on Friday the 13th. Mary Pat and her big cousin had a blast playing together and watching the Backyardigans with Daddy while Nana helped Mommy organize closets! Everyone enjoyed a trip to Manhattan the Sunday before President’s Day. We were very sad to see Nana and Victoria leave on Wednesday! Here are a few pictures from their visit.

This week, Mommy started a new job and Mary Pat began going to “school” from 8 to 5:30 each day. Mommy is working in Port Washington, NY, about 15 minutes away from home. Mary Pat is going to school at Tutor Time in New Hyde Park right up the street from the house and on Mommy’s way to work. So far everyone seems to be enjoying the new daily activities. Miss Stephanie and Miss Lauren love Mary Pat and say that she is adjusting nicely to eating, sleeping and playing at school!

Happy Valentine's Day!!!

Happy (belated) Valentine's Day from Mary Pat! Nana and Victoria have been visiting since Friday and we have all had a wonderful time. On Valentine's Day morning we went for a visit to the Long Island Children's Museum where it was hard to tell who was having more fun, Victoria or Chuck! That evening, Nana was nice enough to spend a very special Valentine's night watching both of her precious granddaughters while Shannon and Chuck went to a wedding. Sunday, we embarked on an exciting trip to NYC with visits to Build-A-Bear, Central Park, and the Ferris Wheel at Toys R Us in Times Square! Needless to say, Mommy, Daddy and Mary Pat are going to be sad to see Nana and Victoria leave on Wednesday.

Mary Pat LOVES to snuggle with her Nana!
Will you be my Valentine?
