February Fun!

The past couple of weeks have been very exciting around the Kolenik house! Last weekend Papa drove up from South Carolina with his car packed full of Mary Pat's Christmas presents that couldn't make the plane trip back with us. Needless to say, Mary Pat was very excited to see her kitchen, shopping cart and many other toys she had forgotten about! She also had fun spending some time with Papa. We also finally got around to ordering Mary Pat her "Anywhere Chair" from Pottery Barn. This was a belated Christmas present that we ordered and received last week. Mary Pat has LOVED having a place to sit and enjoy Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and Yo Gabba Gabba while snacking on her cheerios.

This weekend Mary Pat will be 18 months old and we can hardly believe how big she is getting. She is running all over the place and loves to climb up anything (especially the stairs). She will eat pretty much anything that is put in front of her and is the best eater in her class at the day care and is starting to get better at using her fork and spoon! Her newest words are "up", "mine", "baa", "roar", "whoa" and "bu-bye" and she loves to "read" to herself and her baby dolls. Follow this link to more pictures from the past few weeks!

Enjoying her turkey meatballs and egg noodles with her fork. Showing off her new snow boots from Nana!

Valentine's Day

We had a pretty uneventful Valentine's Day weekend this year. Unfortunately, Daddy started the weekend off with a stomach virus while Mary Pat was still getting over her sinus infection from earlier in the week. Saturday was Mommy's birthday and we celebrated with a yummy breakfast, a relaxing afternoon at home, and then a delicious dinner with some friends. On Valentine's Day we celebrated with a lazy day at home until Mommy came down with the stomach virus Daddy had earlier in the weekend. Daddy and Mary Pat spent the afternoon playing while Mommy got some much needed rest. Thankfully we all had Monday off for President's Day so we had an extra day to recover! Here are a few pictures of Mary Pat modelling her Valentine's Day apparel. Due to her illness I didn't get many good pictures of all of her outfits.

Snow Day!!!!

Today we had a family snow day! Due to "blizzard conditions" on Long Island all day, Mommy, Daddy and Mary Pat got to stay home from work/school. We had a great day relaxing, watching Nick Jr. and The Disney Channel and reading all of Mary Pat's books (over and over again). Late this afternoon the snow and wind let up a little bit so we got to take Mary Pat out to play in the snow. Thanks to Nana, she had a brand new snow suit that was GREAT!! We had a wonderful day, although we are not looking forward to the shovelling and driving that we will have to endure tomorrow. Enjoy the pictures below and at this link.

More Swim Lessons

Mary Pat has continued to enjoy her swim lessons and seems to like them more and more each week. Tomorrow will be week #5 and we have already signed her up for the next session! She still enjoys kicking on her back but has also started to enjoy hanging onto the wall (and saying HI to Mommy!) and loves to "jump" in off the side. We hope she continues to be a water baby so that she likes the regular pool this summer! Enjoy the pictures below and a few more at this link.
Kicking around the pool with Dada.
Practicing her "reach and pull"
Who is concentrating more......Mary Pat or Dada?

Mary Pat's Warm Up Suit!

Now that Mary Pat is going to swim lessons every Saturday, we decided that she needed a cute warm up suit to wear to and from the pool. Mommy was very excited to find this adorable pink Puma "track suit" on sale at Macy's a few weeks ago. As you can tell, Mary Pat seems to like the outfit and looks adorable if you ask us!
Smiling up at Dada.
Being silly before swim lessons. Isn't she getting big?!
Waiting to get in the pool with Dada.
