Fall Family Party Fun

A couple of weekends ago we went to a family party at Hempstead Lake State Park thrown each year by Daddy's Uncle Eddie. The park is a wonderful place for the kids to run around, although the dirt makes for quite a mess by the end of the day! There is also a playground and a carousel within walking distance which was a big hit with Mary Pat this year. We enjoyed a beautiful early fall day outside with Daddy's family. Here are a few more pictures!
Mary Pat hanging out with Uncle Bill Barry and Pat.
The girl loves her Cheetos!
Michael had just woken up (and proceeded to have a blow out soon after this picture was taken so his cute outfit had to be changed!).
Visiting with Aunt Amy and Cousin Emily.
Big Papa and Pat with three of their SIX granddaughters!
Daddy and Nick participating in "Daddy Feeding Duty"!
Mary Pat and her admirer Lylah.
Aunt Amy leading a group of girl cousins to the playground!

Holding on tight. Ready for the carousel to start!
Riding the carousel with Big Papa and Daddy!

Too much excitement for one afternoon.

Big Sister Little Brother Quality Time

Mary Pat really wanted to hold her baby brother the other night. Unfortunately, Michael was very hungry so he wasn't very smiley in these pictures but I tried anyway. Michael loves to grab on to ANYTHING. This includes hair and faces. At first, Mary Pat thought it was funny that he would grab her face while she was holding him.....then he got some hair! She told him "no, no" and then she was done actually holding him. She didn't want him out of her chair though because she had to read him a book! Of course, crazy Mommy made sure to take a ton of pictures even as Michael started having a meltdown. You can see them all here!
Michael loves grabbing faces and hair!
The giggle twins.
She LOVES to give Michael kisses all the time.
More kisses.
Michael started crying and this upset Mary Pat too!
This is her pretend crying face as she tells me, "Mommy, Michael crying!"
Showing Michael her Barbie. After Mommy gave Michael his toy to chew on, she had to get one of her own toys!
Reading Michael a book.
Michael trying to take the book to chew on it.
Deciding to chew on his toy when he couldn't get the book.
Listening to his big sissy read to him!
Deciding once again that he wants this book!

Random Kolenik Family Happenings

Things have been wonderful but hectic in the Kolenik household the past few weeks! I know, what else is new. Haha! We are still adjusting to the "new normal" of having two kids and finding time to upload pictures and blog has been difficult. So, I thought I would post some random pictures from the past couple of months that never made it onto any earlier posts! Hope you like them (SHAY BABY, Leenie, Mom and Jen - I am basically talking to you since I doubt anyone else reads this blog consistently!).
There are a few more at this link to enjoy as well!

Mary Pat helping Mommy shake Michael's bottle while singing our (made up) bottle shaking song.

All the cool kids wear sunglasses to shake their bottles!

Loving the soup at Benihanna!

She ate all of her soup and a little bit of Mommy's too! All while keeping her eyes on the chef cooking!

Michael was very interested in the "show" although he looks a little confused here.

We made this trip to Benihanna around Mary Pat's birthday so she got ice cream and the waitresses sang Happy Birthday to her with a Buddha candle.

Looking at the candle while we sang Happy Birthday.
Testing out the glasses from her Mrs. Potato Head.

Preparing to torture Michael while he is helpless in his bouncy seat!
The precious boy!

GOOOOOOAAAAALLLLLL!!!!!!!

Two weeks ago, Mary Pat started a soccer class. The ProSoccer Kids class is for 2 year olds and takes place on Saturday mornings for 45 minutes at Eisenhower Park. Since we had never really played soccer with her, we were not sure how Mary Pat would react to the class (or if she got Mommy's unathleticism!). However, it is a "parent participation" class so Daddy was helping her with the activities and we knew she would love being outside so we weren't too concerned. Well, she LOVED it!! She paid very close attention to the coach and loved sitting on the "magic carpet" to wait on the next activity. She didn't really understand that she had to kick the ball into the net and kept picking it up to throw it in......maybe she'll be the goalie!

We are looking forward to many mroe fun classes this fall and hope you enjoy the pictures below and at this link!
Very excited to have her ProSoccer Kids shirt and name tag.

Listening to coach on the magic carpet.

Michael observing the class and guarding Mommy's iced coffee!

Helping to "wake up the cones" which was a three step process. Step one was to "knock, knock".

Step two: Spread your wings (helping the kids with their balance).

Step three: "Pop" the cone up with your feet!

Very proud of herself!

Smushing the "hat" for the cone.

Putting the "hat" on the cone.

Excited to have a mini soccer ball!

Kicking the mini soccer ball towards the goal.

Throwing the ball in.....see why we're thinking goalie?

Ready for the big soccer ball now!

She loved kicking the ball!

Showing off her "GOOOAAALLL" pose!

Ready for the "team" cheer at the end of practice.

"WE LOVE SOCCER!!!!"

Getting stickers for doing such a good job.
